Bike Rehab Project Work Session
Join the Bike Walk Indian River County volunteer team every Tuesday morning when we get together to rehab donated bikes to be given away to adults and children in our community who need, but cannot afford, a bike.
We open the warehouse around 8 am, but you can arrive anytime you like. We usually start to wrap up around 11 am, but you can leave whenever you like.
You do not need bike mechanic experience, only a willingness to pitch in. If you want to learn, our more experienced volunteers will teach you. Otherwise, we have plenty of non-skilled, but important, jobs (e.g., cleaning bikes, organizing parts, etc.). If you have some basic bike tools and/or a portable work stand, you might want to bring them. However, we have tools and work stands to share.
Our warehouse is located directly behind Orchid Island Bikes and Kayaks, just off 12th Street in Vero (just west of the US 1 WaWa).
We have a bike parking stand if you want to ride the warehouse. If you drive your car to the warehouse, please park in the Dollar Tree/Staples parking lot across the street so that we do not interfere with Orchid Island's customer and employee parking.
